Naggar
is situated in the left bank of the Beas River.
Standing majestically at a height of 1760 mtr.
above sea level. Naggar once was the capital of
the kingdom of Kullu during 16th century.
Naggar
is surrounded by deodar trees and with picturesque
view of the snow clad mountains and surrounding
area.
Attractions of Naggar:
Naggar Castle : Naggar Castle
believed to have been built by Raja Sidh
Singh in early 16th century was used as
royal residence and was the state Head
Quarter of the kingdom till the middle of
the 17th century. It is presently converted
into a tourist hotel running by H.P.T.D.C.

Nicholas Roerich Museum :
Naggar village assumes international
importance for the Roerich Museum. Nicholas
Roerich made his mark as an artist,
explorer poet, author and a co-educator. A
large number of his works in painting still
adore the walls of the museum. His research
in metaphysical subjects, occult
medicine and philosophy still holds
great curiosity amongst domestic and
international tourists.
Temples
: In Naggar village these are so many
ancient temples that hav e
their own historic importance and
traditional architecture. These
famous temples are Vishnu Temple, Gourishankar
Temple, Tripura Sundhari Temple & Krishna
Temple. All these historic temples are
situated in surrounding Naggar
heritage village.
